Urban Baristas is preparing to open its first location outside London, with Liverpool set to become the next home for the Australian inspired coffee concept. The business, founded in 2016, has grown to 18 sites across the capital and is now beginning a move toward national expansion.
Co founder Huw Wardrope visited Liverpool over the weekend as plans progress for the company’s first regional store. He shared that he was travelling to meet newly appointed franchise partners and spoke of his anticipation for establishing the brand in the city. Wardrope said he was looking forward to exploring Liverpool and getting the first store outside London underway, describing the move as an important milestone in the journey from a London favourite to a national name rooted in specialty coffee and strong partnerships.
The planned Liverpool opening follows news that Urban Baristas has agreed a multi site development deal with Anytime Fitness franchisee Aary Walia. Walia is the founder of the investment firm Walia Capital and has been an Anytime Fitness franchisee since 2023. The partnership signals a significant step for Urban Baristas as it builds momentum for growth beyond the capital.
