The team behind Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar Maray has expanded its portfolio by acquiring a beloved Liverpool neighbourhood bar and restaurant.
QVO Hospitality – the parent company of Maray, which is renowned for its three thriving locations in Liverpool and one in Manchester – has entered into a strategic operating partnership with Jonathan and Miles Falkingham to assume control of the esteemed Buyers Club located on Hardman Street.
Buyers Club, known for crafting fresh, daily-made pasta and offering an exceptional selection of natural wines, has been a staple in the vibrant culinary scene since 2015, occupying the space that once housed The Picket bar and music venue.
This venture marks another significant chapter for QVO Hospitality, led by founders James Bates and Thomas White, who have successfully managed The One O’Clock Gun pub at the Royal Albert Dock since 2021. Joining forces with Buyers Club aligns seamlessly with QVO’s commitment to bringing unique and exceptional culinary experiences to their patrons.
To enhance the Buyers Club experience, Thomas White and James Bates have welcomed new shareholders Lucy Noone Blake and Tom Stanley, both long-standing board members of the company. Expressing their enthusiasm for this venture, White commented, “We love Buyers Club. We’ve been regulars there for years, and so when this opportunity arose, we jumped for it. The team in place is great, doing a brilliant job, and we can’t wait to work together to take Buyers Club into the new year.”
This exciting collaboration promises to bring fresh energy, culinary innovation, and a renewed spirit to Buyers Club as it enters this new chapter.
