Exciting news has emerged for Liverpool’s dining scene, as plans are unveiled for a prestigious addition to its culinary landscape. Troia (UK) Restaurants Ltd, the renowned company behind a restaurant chain favoured by celebrities in London, is set to bring the illustrious Ivy brand to the heart of the city.
A planning application has been submitted to Liverpool Council, proposing the transformation of the historic former Bank of England site on Castle Street into a flagship Ivy establishment. Documents accompanying the application confirm that the brand intends to imbue the venue with the hallmark signage and menu boards synonymous with the high-end dining experience associated with The Ivy.
Expected to join the esteemed ‘Ivy Collection’ – a series of spin-off restaurants launched by the firm in 2014 – the new Liverpool venue represents a significant expansion for the iconic brand. This move signifies a strategic step towards extending The Ivy’s renowned dishes and impeccable service beyond its London origins, with nearly 40 handpicked locations already established across the UK and Ireland.
The Castle Street bank building is steeped in history, and was previously occupied in 2015 by Love Activists who advocated for its use as a support centre for the homeless. Plans submitted by JSM Group in 2022 aimed to repurpose the ground floor into a restaurant/bar space, complemented by commercial kitchens.
True to the essence of The Ivy, the Ivy Collection’s brasseries offer a seamless dining experience seven days a week, from morning until night. The menus, curated to blend contemporary flair with timeless classics from The Ivy’s extensive repertoire, cater to every palate and occasion. With a commitment to seasonal, quality ingredients and an unwavering dedication to exemplary service, the Ivy Collection upholds the rich heritage and glamour that has defined British hospitality for over a century.
