This week marks a significant moment for independent coffee roaster 92 Degrees as it prepares to make its debut in transport hubs. The company is embarking on a strategic expansion plan, with three openings in train stations scheduled over the next few months.
Founded in 2014, 92 Degrees will kick off its venture by opening its doors at Liverpool’s Lime Street station this week. Following this inaugural launch, the company will turn its attention to Glasgow’s Queen Street station, where construction is slated to commence next week. Additionally, a new site is set to open next month in Liverpool’s Central station.
Speaking to Propel in February, co-founder and chief executive Jack Brewitt revealed the company’s ambitious plans to expand its footprint to 20 sites by the end of this year. With a privately funded model, 92 Degrees is actively exploring opportunities for further expansion in cities like Newcastle, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.
Last summer, the company made its first foray into Scotland with the opening of 92 Hanover Street in Edinburgh. Brewitt expressed satisfaction with the recent opening in Leeds Boar Lane, noting a strong start and citing the company’s best January performance to date.
On the funding front, Brewitt conveyed gratitude for the unwavering support of current investors, indicating no immediate plans for external financing until after 2025.
As 92 Degrees gears up for its transport hub debut, coffee enthusiasts eagerly await the next chapter in the company’s journey.
