The kitchen is ready, the famous homemade gravy has been perfected, and Liverpool’s best Yorkshire puddings are back on the menu – Liverpool’s favourite Sunday Roast has returned to The Watering Can, and tables for the much-anticipated “Return of the Roast” are filling up fast.
The Watering Can’s legendary Sunday Roast, affectionately described as “as good as ya ma’s,” draws diners from across the North West. Guests can choose between two or three courses, priced at £27 and £34 respectively. The revamped menu is packed with flavours, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Expect everything from starters and picky bits to hearty roasts, sides, and indulgent desserts.
The centrepiece, of course, is the roast itself. Diners can choose from Hereford salt-aged beef rump, free-range Goosnargh chicken supreme, rare breed porchetta (stuffed with Cumberland sausage and apple sauce), or a wild mushroom and nut roast with butter beans, chestnuts, and cranberry. Each roast is served with crispy roast potatoes, maple-glazed carrots, a medley of greens, Yorkshire pudding, and your choice of rich homemade meat or vegetable gravy. For an extra treat, sides include the restaurant’s famous truffle cauliflower cheese and creamed cabbage with caraway. And, of course, you can always add extra roasties and gravy.
For dessert, indulge in classic favourites like sticky toffee pudding with cinder toffee and salted caramel sauce, lemon posset with lemon meringue and limoncello gel, or a rich tiramisu featuring boudoir fingers, Crosby coffee, vanilla mascarpone, and dark chocolate.
