Festive Fun at Salt and Tar

Bootle based street food and live event community Salt and Tar is getting into the Christmas spirit with a fabulous festive market this December.

From Friday December 8 to Sunday December 10 Salt and Tar will play host to music, family friendly activities and gift stalls.

Liverpool Food Network member Chef Eddie Kilty will also be bringing his own unique menu to the market with his new concept Bun & Pickle. Salt and Tar will also partner with local venue Lock and Quay to provide drinks from cask ales to mulled wine.

Events include a live DJ set on Friday evening, a drop-in craft workshop for kids, and live music from a local acoustic duo on Saturday afternoon. There’ll be more live music on Sunday with Scrapyard Studio’s Rock Choir performing and a special Storytime for kids with author Jude Lennon.

Described as “a social hub located on the canal side in the heart of Bootle” Salt and Tar host free to attend monthly Street Food Shindigs alongside a full calendar of ticketed live events including two dates with the iconic Sir Tom Jones recently announced for August 2024.

Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, said:

“I can’t wait to welcome everyone back to see our Winter Street Food Market. There will be plenty on offer for the whole family to get you into the Christmas spirit, from delicious food and drinks to live entertainment. It’s going to be a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the year and enjoy the festive atmosphere at Salt and Tar.”

Opening hours for the event are 4-9pm on Friday 8th, 12-9pm on Saturday 9th, and 12-6pm on Sunday 10th.

Entry is free and your furry friends are welcome as the venue is dog friendly too!
