Cocktails at The Long Shot
You know you’re in for something special when you visit The Long Shot. Masquerading as a sports bar, the team here aren’t just about chips and beers. In fact their sister bar Present Company consistently places high on the list of the UK’s Top 50 Cocktail Bars so you know their cocktail list is going to be absolutely banging.
Recommendation: The Early Payout cocktail made with Jameson Stout, Coffee, Walnut, Baileys and Chestnut.
Nibbles at Madre
Madre launched in 2019 and is brough to us by the faces behind Liverpool favourite Belzan, and Breddos in London. The team took everything they’d learned about the food, drink, and hospitality of Mexico and distilled it into one of the most delicious food and drink experiences in town.
Recommendation: Start your evening with a festive taco or two from Madre – in fact the Fried Sprout Taco is one of the best we’ve ever had!
Festive Mains at Gusto
With full height glass windows giving a perfect view of the Albert Dock’s Christmas lights, Gusto has been feeding the people of Liverpool for almost two decades with fresh food from sustainable sources. They even have a statement “Con Amici” table (roughly translated as “eating with friends”) where up to 40 people can sit at the same table!
Recommendation: The Festive Menu from Gusto launches on December 1st and includes a traditional turkey wrapped in smoked bacon, served with all the trimmings!
Something Sweet at Smugglers Cove
You’re going to need a bit of a walk after that dinner, so make your way over to Smugglers Cove where you’ll find a treasure trove of rum, gin, tequila and whisky fit for any aspiring pirate! Smugglers Cove also has an impressive menu, with live music to entertain throughout the week.
Recommendation: The Biscoff Cookie Pie is an absolute delight, deliciously rich it’s served warm with vanilla ice cream.
An After Dinner Drink at The One O’Clock Gun
With live music, draft beers and an impressive cocktail list, The One O’Clock Gun is the perfect place to finish your evening with an after dinner drink. For generations, the sound of the one o’clock gun on nearby Morpeth Dock was the signal for the people of Liverpool that it was time for lunch, and you’ll find everything you need to restore you right here.
Recommendation: Finish your evening with a coffee… The Espresso Martini is a perfect blend of Absolut Vodka, Coffee, Chocolate Bitters and Espresso to keep you dancing all night!
