Award-winning Merseyside Brewery to Cease Trading

Beloved Merseyside craft beer haven Chapter Brewery has announced its decision to cease operations.

Nestled in the quaint locale of Sutton Weaver, on the border of Runcorn and Frodsham, Chapter Brewery has been a cherished fixture for beer enthusiasts for eight memorable years.

Pioneering a unique fusion of literature and brewing, Chapter Brewery prided itself on being a small, independent entity crafting a diverse array of beers that were as imaginative as they were delicious. Their creations, inspired by literary works, found a widespread presence in pubs across Merseyside and became a staple at regional festivals.

In an emotional statement shared via Instagram, the brewery bid adieu to its loyal patrons: “After eight years of fun, freneticism, and fulfilment, it is time to close the book on Chapter. We have had the privilege of making beer for you all and being alongside you drinking it. However, the time is right to finish this particular story. We have won awards. We have made friends. We have made something. Not a bad outcome. Trade friends: thank you for everything. We have some beer that needs homes so get in touch.”

Despite the decision to cease trading, Chapter Brewery leaves behind a legacy of excellence. Earlier this year, the brewery clinched a prestigious national award for its acclaimed 5.5% Smoked Porter, aptly named “Dead Man’s Fist”. This exceptional brew secured the gold medal in the specialty beer category at the esteemed Campaign for Real Ale Champion Winter Beer of Britain competition, solidifying Chapter Brewery’s reputation as a trailblazer in the craft beer scene.

As Chapter Brewery prepares to bid its final farewell in June, beer aficionados are encouraged to seize the opportunity to savour the last remnants of their beloved brews. For those interested in giving these liquid works of art a deserving home, Chapter Brewery extends a heartfelt invitation to reach out.
