New ‘Tikeasy’ Bar to Open in Liverpool

Liverpool hospitality veteran Danny Cunningham is set to open a new ‘tikeasy’ bar on Seel Street specialising in classic cocktails and new creations inspired by founder Cunningham’s extensive travels.

Danny C’s will combine the best elements of a tiki bar and a speakeasy. The 35-seat venue is set to open this autumn and will feature food and drink from the Middle East, south east Asia and the Americas.

Cunningham started his hospitality career at Alma de Cuba while studying in Liverpool before becoming part of the opening team for Salt Dog Slims and 81 Ltd. He has since worked as an independent beverage consultant across the globe and opened his own bar in Singapore before consulting on the opening of several rum distilleries in the Caribbean.

“Danny C’s will reflect my personal experience from travelling around the world, experiencing the beauty of many different styles of hospitality,” Cunningham said.

Every country has its own approach depending on its culture and diversity and each location has great ideas that can be implemented to compliment each other. My Tikeasy will incorporate these special styles of service to create the best level of service possible.”
