Yes, there’s a Wendy’s in Liverpool. In fact one of the most popular brands to come out of America is hiding in plain sight in the heart of our city centre.
But you’d be forgiven for not knowing that one of the most popular fast food restaurants on the planet is serving up legendary burgers and fries. Wendy’s Liverpool store doesn’t appear on their social media. And whilst their website showcases 20 stores across the UK, the location here in Liverpool does not feature.
Wendy’s is located in the food court of Gravity MAX in Liverpool ONE, alongside brands including Italian favourites Coco di Mama, and Greek gyros brad The Athenian. Gravity MAX have taken over the former Debenham’s building alongside M&S, and in addition to your Wendy’s fix you’ll also find live music, sports screenings, go-karting, mini golf and more.
But it’s clear that even local fans aren’t aware of Wendy’s latest opening. When a recent Instagram post asked UK fans where they’d like to see the next store, several replied asking for a Wendy’s in Liverpool… Awkward.
Wendy’s is the latest in a long line of established American brands to call Liverpool home, including the controversial new Hooters on Water Street, Popeyes on Lord Street, and Slim Chickens on the Liverpool ONE Terrace and we’re delighted to see so many international brands recognising the potential our city has as part of their global plans.
