Two Liverpool Venues Forced to Close

Two well-established Liverpool venues have been forced to close this week after receiving notice from their Landlord. This news comes less than a fortnight after Jimmy’s and Burgerism announced their closure in the city.

Popular city centre bar The Oracle took to Instagram to give their statement, saying:

“This morning we had some unfortunate news. Our beautiful, historic premises has been sold by the landlord and we will have to relocate. It will take some time to get back up and running because The Oracle is rather particular about her household; but don’t worry, we’ll be greeting you again soon.

Until then, we will be collaborating with other fantastic local venues so you can experience the work of our world class magicians elsewhere.

Our magicians booking system will shortly be live on our website so you can hire our phenomenal performers for your own weddings, private parties and corporate events.

If you know of any small quirky venues that are looking to be occupied, or some larger locations that might come with an investor, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

We want to thank everyone for their support and for ringing our doorbell each and every weekend. It really does mean the world.

Our Halloween show has been cancelled but may be performed in the future and our bookings have been informed (refunds are already on their way)

We’ll see you on the other side for a Smokey Old Fashioned.”

The Monro have also been impacted with their website giving only the following statement:

“THE MONRO PUB HAS NOW CLOSED

THE REASON?

The owner of the building feels that the fire safety of the building is compromised.

While Merseyside Fire are prepared to let us operate, the owner does not want to risk his reputation should anything happen.

He also plans to redevelop The Monro having found a “successful entrepreneur”, with “deep pockets”.
