Malmaison Bar & Grill has unveiled its vibrant spring menu, brimming with fresh, tantalizing dishes set to awaken the taste buds. The new menu which launched last month is packed full of new dishes with a seasonal twist as well as some old favourites.
“Malmaison Bar & Grill is more than just a restaurant – it’s a stylish fusion grill destination, offering a contemporary dining experience curated by Chef Director John Woodward. Our passionate chefs meticulously craft each dish, focusing on prime grass-fed British beef that is hand-cut and expertly matured for maximum flavour.”
Kickstart your culinary journey with a delightful appetizer – highlights include the Beetroot & Gin Cured Salmon and a refreshing Pea & Watercress Soup.
We opted for a portion of Buffalo Chicken Wings which according to our server are one thing which never leaves the menu at Malmaison – customers absolutely love them and we can see why! They were surprisingly boneless and packed quite a punch which paired perfectly with a squeeze of lime and a Blue Cheese Sauce. The Beef Carpaccio with Steak Tartare came chilled, and was quite possibly one of the best starters I’ve had in the city.
For the main event, there’s something for everyone including a range of fresh salads, and a hearty Portobello Mushroom Burger for those cutting down on meat.
Steaks are grilled to order so we opted for a 250g New York Strip – cooked a perfect medium rare – and a Blue Cheese Burger with crispy fries served on grilled Brioche and slathered in a deliciously creamy, cheesy sauce.
Of course, no meal is complete without a sweet treat to finish and Malmaison’s menu is no exception. We opted for the year-round favourite Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the Baked Cheesecake which was light, fluffy, and paired with a perfectly grilled peach.
Speaking about the creation of the new menu, Chef John Woodward says: “We take pride in every detail of our menus and strive to deliver unparalleled service to our guests. Our team is dedicated to creating a dining experience that resonates with our guests, showcased through stunning photography of our dishes, cocktails, and team members within our stylish surroundings. Join us, and indulge in an unforgettable culinary journey.”
And it shows. Our food was wonderful, but the highlight of our visit may well have been Restaurant Manager Mustapha, who went above and beyond in his service. From recommending a great bottle of Malbec and customer favourites from the menu, to sharing his experience of other Malmaison hotels across the UK and giving us his top tips for tourists in various cities – we’ll be visiting Edinburgh very soon based on his recommendations – Mustapha’s service was effortlessly flawless.
