Plans Submitted for Liverpool Coffee Roastery

Popular independent Bold Street coffee shop Ropes & Twines have submitted plants to start roasting their own coffee beans right here in Liverpool.

Owners of the well-known Bold Street cafe, Tian Loh and Remy Kuijken, are considering the introduction of a coffee roastery to roast their own distinct coffee beans. The duo, proprietors of the Ropes & Twisted coffee shop and wine bar on Bold Street, have submitted plans to the city council for the conversion of a vacant building.

The proposed project involves repurposing a vacant former coach house at 2 Hope Way into a facility for a coffee roastery. The development would encompass areas for roasting, storage, offices, and welfare facilities.

Currently lacking the capability to roast their own beans at the Bold Street location, the owners intend to sell the beans produced at the new roastery on-site. Insider Media reports that the plan also includes provisions for employees to work within the roastery, offering a space for training new baristas and enabling Ropes and Twines to craft their own distinctive flavors, tastes, and aromas.

The envisioned expansion marks an exciting development for the popular Bold Street café which also boasts an impressive wine selection alongside an in-house bakery and chocolatier.
