Liverpool’s iconic Royal Albert Dock welcomes a fresh taste of Italy, as independent pasta restaurant Pasta Cosa opens the doors to a brand new site. The new venue marks the second site for sisters and co-founders Kayleigh and Talia Baccino, following the success of their original restaurant on Castle Street.
Nestled on the inner quay, just a few doors down from the sisters’ popular café Francie’s Focaccia and Coffee, the new restaurant offers a relaxed and welcoming setting overlooking the waterfront, the perfect spot for families, friends, and pasta lovers alike to unwind and enjoy freshly made dishes.
The dockside location will be larger than the Castle Street original, seating 24 guests indoors and offering space for an additional 16 diners on The Colonnades. At its heart is an open kitchen, where fresh pasta will be made daily. From classic Tagliatelle to Fusillone, each dish is ready to pair with a range of authentic sauces such as a rich Bolognese or creamy portobello mushroom and spinach. Diners can also personalise their plates with tasty add-ons like burrata, cherry tomatoes, or prawns, with many ingredients sourced directly from Italy to ensure authentic flavour and quality.
Staying true to their Italian heritage, the Baccino sisters aim to create a space where great food and togetherness take centre stage. Their menu reflects this ethos, featuring gluten-free linguine, vegan-friendly sauces, and a children’s menu designed with simplicity and taste in mind.
The drinks list complements the menu perfectly, showcasing Italian favourites such as Aperol Spritz and Birra Moretti, ideal for sipping on an autumn afternoon overlooking the dock’s scenic views.
Kayleigh Baccino shared her excitement about the new opening:
“The opportunity to open our second Pasta Cosa site in such a vibrant and historic location is a dream come true. The dock has a wonderful community feel, and we can’t wait to welcome both familiar faces and new customers to our new restaurant. Our goal is simple — to share our love of fresh, authentic Italian pasta in a place where everyone feels at home.”
Pasta Cosa will open for both lunch and dinner, serving until 9:30pm. For more information, visit: albertdock.com/food-drink/pasta-cosa
