Liverpool will hold a dedicated Restaurant Week over seven days in April, celebrating the range of food and drink on offer in the city. Organised and funded by Liverpool BID Company, the week, held from 22-28 April, will see different venues participate with offers from £5 – £35.
Taking place at what can be a quiet week of the year, to support the industry, Liverpool Restaurant Week has been launched to cast a spotlight on the city’s restaurant sector. Sandwiched between Grand National Weekend and before the Summer events programme begins, venues who wish to be involved have until 1st April to submit their offers.
Liverpool BID Company announced the event last week, stating:
“We are delighted to be launching Liverpool Restaurant Week, with the city having a seven day celebration of its wide variety of places to eat. We have had a huge amount of enthusiasm so far and we are excited to see the response to our plans. Our ambition is for people to try something new and find a new venue to visit. We have followed restaurant weeks delivered in other cities, from New York to Newcastle, and they bring a lot of new diners and a welcome boost to the hospitality sector. We have many incredible restaurants across the city centre, so we are delighted for the spotlight to be thrown on them.”
Matt Farrell from GSG Hospitality Group believes that the event is a great opportunity to showcase what Liverpool Has to offer:
“There’s been a lot of emphasis on quality in the Liverpool food scene recently and we have seen the city project itself well on the world stage with some fantastic events. Really excited to continue this narrative with another fantastic event and being able to showcase the city again in a positive culinary light. There’s a lot of exciting concepts and creative ideas in this great city and I am looking forward for the friendliest city becoming the foodiest for Liverpool restaurant week!”
Vicky Redhead from Hotel Indigo Liverpool believes the event will introduce new customers to venues around the city, and is hoping it will drive repeat trade in the future:
“Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill Liverpool are delighted to be taking part in Liverpool’s very first Restaurant Week. Being located within Hotel Indigo Liverpool on Chapel Street in the commercial district we are looking forward to getting people through our doors that wouldn’t normally have chosen to dine here.”
Dimitri Prassinos, General Manager Gaucho Liverpool will also be supporting the event and is keen to showcase the unique experience his restaurant has to offer:
“We are proud to join the first Liverpool Restaurant Week! It mirrors our city’s lively food culture, and we’re excited to be a part of it. We are looking forward to sharing the Gaucho experience with everyone during this celebration.”
