Indian Tiffin Room Champions Meat Free Monday with a Mouth-Watering Menu

Are you a vegetarian or curious about trying a meat-free lifestyle? Does the idea of walking into a restaurant and being presented with a menu of over 40 delectable dishes—all completely meat-free – excite you?

If the answer is yes then Liverpool’s newest Indian street food restaurant, Indian Tiffin Room, has something special in store.

Located on Duke Street, the Indian Tiffin Room is making a significant commitment to the Meat Free Monday campaign, a global initiative launched by Paul, Mary, and Stella McCartney in 2009.

Every Monday, the restaurant offers a special Meat Free Monday menu featuring over 40 dishes, including popular Indian Tiffin Room favourites like Vada Pav, Gobi Manchurian, Puri, and their famous Dosa.

The Meat Free Monday campaign encourages people to slow down climate change, conserve natural resources, and improve their health by enjoying at least one plant-based day each week. By joining this movement, Indian Tiffin Room aims to make a positive impact on both the environment and their customers’ well-being.

Founded by Srini Sundaram and Suresh Raje Urs in 2013, Indian Tiffin Room is the first non-vegetarian restaurant group in the UK to support the Meat Free Monday organization by offering an extensive, completely meat-free menu every Monday across all their locations.

“As a new venue in Liverpool, we are delighted to support a campaign launched by one of the city’s most famous sons,” said co-founder Suresh Raje Urs. “We are proud of the Indian heritage that flows through our food, and we love vegetarian dishes that deliver incredible flavours. Indian street food has relied less on meat for centuries.”

Co-founder Srini Sundaram added, “Since we opened, our menu has been around 70% meat-free, offering a vast selection of dishes for people choosing vegetarian and vegan lifestyles. Moving to Meat Free Monday was an obvious progression for us. We want to make it easy for people to make a healthy choice and enjoy a great meal out at the same time. We hope to lead the charge and inspire other UK restaurants to raise awareness for the Meat Free Monday campaign.”

According to Meat Free Monday, if everyone in the UK participated in Meat Free Monday for a year, it would collectively save an area of the world’s forests equivalent to all the national parks in England and Wales combined. Additionally, it would prevent the same amount of greenhouse gases as emitted by driving 20 billion kilometres.

Whether you’re considering a permanent plant-based lifestyle, are a vegetarian eager for a diverse menu, or simply want to support the Meat Free Monday movement, Indian Tiffin Room offers an unparalleled dining experience. And for non-vegetarian diners, the à la carte menu remains available to ensure everyone can enjoy their visit.
