Franco Manca, the renowned “sourdough pizza pioneers,” is gearing up to launch a new restaurant in a historic building on Bold Street this September. The new location will occupy the site formerly known as Rennies Gallery, and to celebrate, Franco Manca plans to give away 1,000 pizzas to the local community.
Founded in 2008 by Giuseppe Mascoli and Bridget Hugo, Franco Manca began its journey in Brixton Market’s Market Row. Since then, the company has expanded its footprint across the UK, boasting over 50 locations nationwide.
Franco Manca’s pizzas are rooted in delivering an “authentic and honest Neapolitan experience.” Giuseppe Mascoli emphasizes the importance of craftsmanship, stating, “Whatever can be made by hand, should be made by hand — this is the leading idea.”
The menu offers a variety of traditional and innovative options, from classic mozzarella and basil or cured ham and mushroom pizzas to unique creations like truffle pesto-based pizzas with smoked burrata and mushrooms or spiced chicken with a roasted courgette base.
All pizzas are made with the signature sourdough, and the restaurant also caters to diverse dietary preferences with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Additionally, guests can enjoy salads, cheese and meat boards, nibbles, and desserts.
The new Franco Manca on Bold Street will feature 90 indoor seats and an outdoor seating area with 20 al fresco dining spots, offering a cozy and vibrant atmosphere for pizza lovers.
