Expansion for Liverpool’s Favourite Chicken Brand

Liverpool’s beloved buttermilk fried chicken concept, Patterson’s, is about to spread its wings beyond the city limits, marking a significant milestone as it prepares to open its third site.

Founded in 2015, Patterson’s emerged from the creative minds behind the former Hastie & Patterson electrical store on Gradwell Street, Liverpool. What began as a pivot from electronics to a culinary venture evolved into a unique fusion of ‘chicken and tunes’ drawing inspiration from the owners’ passion for music and a knack for crafting delectable chicken spice recipes.

Patterson’s further expanded with a site in the former Button Street Smokehouse, albeit now closed. However, this dynamic culinary team is far from stagnant.

Patterson’s recently announced that they will be taking up residency in the long-awaited Blackstock Market development which is due to open this Spring. And this Friday, March 29th, Patterson’s will inaugurate its latest venture at Manchester’s Freight Island, signaling its inaugural foray outside Liverpool.

At Freight Island, patrons can anticipate a mouthwatering menu boasting crispy-coated tenders, succulent wings, savoury burgers, and loaded fries. Additionally, the introduction of the exclusive ‘Freight Island Stacker’ promises a tantalizing culinary experience unique to the Manchester food hall. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted to highlight Patterson’s signature chicken, complemented by the option of their renowned chicken or white gravy.

Declan Carr, the general manager of Pattersons, shared insights into the decision to collaborate with Freight Island, citing the venue’s sterling reputation within Manchester’s vibrant hospitality landscape. Carr expressed admiration for the quality of food and entertainment at Freight Island, underscoring the allure of becoming part of such a dynamic culinary scene.

“We chose to work with Freight Island because we’ve heard great things about what it’s helped bring to the Manchester hospitality scene since it opened. We’ve been ourselves a few times and the food and entertainment quality is brilliant, so it’s just a scene that we really wanted to be a part of.”

With its roots firmly planted in Liverpool and its sights set on new horizons, Patterson’s is poised to captivate the palates of Manchester diners, one crispy-coated tender at a time.
