Rice is a staple food in many parts of the world, but did you know that Europe is home to several varieties of high-quality rice. Greek rice in particular is known for its excellent taste and texture, as well as its nutritional value.

In fact, rice was introduced to Europe from the naturalists who followed Alexander the Great in his expeditions. They found fertile soil in Mediterranean Europe and rice was grown, loved and became part of European culinary tradition.
